Jim Kuehnel
Known For: Directing
Gender: Male
Jim has spent most of his adult life in the entertainment industry. He has produced records, national tours, corporate functions, comedy festivals, family events and a variety of large scale events for up to 70,000 people ranging from music festivals to parades. He has booked thousands of shows across North America and Europe and has toured extensively on both continents, as well as in China. "The Pitch" was Jim's first full-length feature project as director, producer, writer, and editor. The project was filmed over the summers of 2015 and 2016 documenting busker performances and interviews during the 25th and 26th edition of the Buskers on The Bay Festivals in Canada. Buskers featured in the film hail from Australia, England, the US, and Canada, providing a broad spectrum of performers and a unique view into a world few people know about. "What excited me about this project is the remarkable life of these entertainers," says Kuehnel. "These artists perform in front of tens of thousands of people every week across the globe. They have the widest possible audience any entertainer could ever dream of, yet they can walk down the street with nobody recognizing them. It was great to explore their challenges and learn what makes them tick." Jim is currently working on ideas for his second feature.
