David Lanzenberg came up through the ranks as a camera assistant under distinguished Cinematographers like Philippe Rouselot, Christopher Soos, Checo Varese, Aaron Schneider, Daniel Pearl and Nicola Pecorini, working on films such as Tim Burton's PLANET OF THE APES; THE SENSATION OF SIGHT starring David Strathairn; VACUUMS based on the Academy Award nominated short; and the festival favorite PARK directed by Kurt Voelker. He also had the pleasure, as a very young assistant cameraman, of working for his brother, fellow cinematographer Christophe Lanzenberg, on such documentary projects as Madonna’s TRUTH OR DARE. After making the transition to Director of Photography, he has spent the last 10 years working continuously on commercials and music videos for such directors as Paul Minor, Philip Andelman, Matthew Badger, Ruben Fleischer, Henry Alex Rubin, Derek Cianfrance, Brian Beletic and Francois Vogel among others. A native of France, David comes from a family in the arts. In addition to his brother, his father is an art dealer and his mother is an artist and filmmaker who has made documentaries on political leaders from Abbie Hoffman to the Spanish rebels during the time of Franco’s dictatorship. David has had the opportunity to work on a number of documentary projects including shooting the feature length documentary LENNY KRAVITZ MINISTER OF ROCK & ROLL for Philip Andelman, following Lenny Kravitz for a month during his South American Tour in 2004 with a skeleton crew.
